well one way a debate can eduacte someone is if a person is part of the audience of the debate. sitting in the audience, one listens to both sides and may be brought upon information that they did not know, therefore educating them about ths issue. also people who are a part of the debate could be educated by their oppenents on things they were unaware of on the issue.
